Free Webinar: “Equity in the Math Classroom: Strategies for Reaching Every Student” with Dr. Jenna P. Carpenter

Success in the college mathematics classroom is the gateway to a variety of lucrative and prestigious majors at best and a general education requirement for all college students in the very least. Yet our students come from a variety of mathematical backgrounds, many of which are peppered with equity issues. From first-generation college students to students from low socio-economic backgrounds to women and underrepresented minorities to non-traditional and transfer students, the challenge is how to fill in the gaps and provide a more level playing field for student success. We will look at some common equity issues that can impact success in mathematics, as well as strategies for managing around these potential roadblocks.
