Welcome to the North Carolina Chapter of NOSS!

More about the North Carolina Chapter 

NCOSS began in the 1970s as NCADE (North Carolina Association for Developmental Education), with the focus on student success for developmental education students. In 2020, NCADE became NCOSS to expand the focus of student success to ALL students.

The purpose of this Organization is to enhance the academic success of students by:

1. promoting the value of student success initiatives throughout higher education, including, but not limited to, Onboarding, Coaching, Developmental Education, Classroom Instruction, and Support Services.

2. promoting and encouraging opportunities for the professional growth and development of the members of the Organization

3. providing a communications network for the discussion of mutual concerns of members of the Organization

4. encouraging the use and dissemination of research, evaluation, programming, and training efforts in student success initiatives.

5. giving a voice to the Organization and its members by acting as a liaison to higher education institutions, including, but not limited to, the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS), UNC System, private institutions, and the North Carolina State Legislature

6. collaborating with other professionals and organizations with similar goals

7. providing professional conferences Individual and Institutional Memberships are available.
